I can only find Palm Desktop 2.6.1. I haven't seen 2.6.2 available yet.

No, pdt 2.6.1 is the only available ver. as of now. Sometime soon there will be a new ver. released. It is designed for OS X and the m500, m505 and the usb cradle. Although, you can hotsync on OS X now. just load up X, put your palm in the cradle and waa-laa, classic will load up the hotsync manager and you should be all good.

This doesn't work if you have a serial cradle or infrared. Rumoured
to be OK for USB adapters. Classic is not supporting serial or infrared.

I can see 2.6.2 will be a release for the m500. It couldn't possibly be a release for OS X with only an x.x.2 version change. OS X serial I/O is too drastic a change...

And I've seen exactly what mmurray has seen trying to hotsync in Classic - only the USB adapters seem to work. (I've tried Palm and KeySpan.)
