Note: I don't intend this to be an apple product. It is suppose to look like the mac because the mac interface rules!

24/7 Cell phone use can not kill you. I am half-consious proof. (It's not because of the cell phone.)
Caffine is not a mind-altering drug.
It is a life-altering drug!

I know. The "My [something]" concept is a microsoft thing, but I couldn't think of a better idea. I also used to be a PC user until I was enlightened.

If you really care about my platform history, post a thread to the lounge. Let's keep this on topic. What do you think of my design?
Sorry, I just wanted your oppinion (of the drawing, not me.)
BTW, I switched in '96. (or should I say 1996...)

It's not all that bad, but it is a little to much like a desktop GUI for a handheld. The problems with moving the desktop paradigm to the handheld is the space issue and the pen input issue. WinCE had this problem in its early stages and still does to some extent. If you want to see a well designed, intuitive handheld GUI, check out the Newton. It might give you a few ideas.

I've never actually used a newton. Could someone tell me what it's like?

It's completely different from most of what's out there. There is a launcher bar at the bottom from which commonly used apps are launched. One of those is the Extras drawer. The Extras drawer slides open and reveals the files. The top of the drawer looks like the top of a file folder and has a name on the tab, the name of the folder. This can be changed by tapping it a bringing a pulldown menu down. The Extras drawer has two different views for file launching and management.
There are a host of other things that make it the best handheld OS out there, too many to name. The HWR is the best as you do not have to learn anything special and can write anywhere on the screen. This may not give you a great feel for the OS, but try http://www.msu.edu/~luckie/newtgal.htm for a general feel of the platform. Otherwise, if you want to see a Newton in person, there is sure to be a Newton users group meeting in LA or SF sometime soon. There is a list of NUGs at www.info-newt.com
