Howdy,

I have a Powerbook G4 with OS X/9.1. Has anyone used the latest Palm Desktop with OS 9.1 (on its own or in Classic mode from within X) and been able to sync with their Visor. I ate quite a bit of a day trying to get it to work (although, I was using the Palm Desktop 2.6.3 from versiontracker.com, not the one from handspring.com) and the Palm Desktop would usually hang when I started the app.

Thanks,

Walter

You really should be using the Handspring version of the desktop software. There are a few difference between the Palms and the Visors, minor but there are still some differences. I have had no problems what-so-ever syncing under OSX with my Prism. If you're using a USB cradle you may want to set up a new sync profile. The default is 56K, you can pump the sync rate up to over 200K.

Well. I tried again. This time I installed the Handspring version, that specifically says that it is compatible with 9.1. I still get the problem where the Palm Desktop app hangs when starting up. Hmm. I uninstalled everything (both by hand and with the uninstall option in the Palm Installer) and re-installed. Still no dice. I did forget to make sure that the preferences were ditched though... Hmmm.

Pretty frustrated and looking around a few bboards it sounds like I'm not alone. Obviously, I haven't been able to isolate the problem. Are you using all the Extensions that come with the Palm Desktop? Are there any other Exntensions that you specifically turned off?

Thanks,
