I just got my first Messagepad, it's the 2100. I've been using an eMate for over a month now, and the 2100 is to be the mobile companion to the eMate (which stays at home).

I just set it up, but I can't find Newtworks anywhere on it. I understand you need the keyboard to use newtworks, but shouldn't it at least appear in the Extras drawer? Or does Newtworks have to be installed from a CD or something?

Thanks!

you should have got a cd with the newton with newtworks on it.
i can give it to you in case you didn't get the cd.

you can use newtworks without a keyboard. use the on-screen keyboard for the word processor. the spread sheet module takes hand-written input.

i use my keyboard, though. speeds things up a little.

The keyboard is not necessary if you use HWRWorks by Stand Alone. I don't know if you have to pay for it or not, but mine works without a code. If you don't have a keyboard along, that makes using NewtonWorks that much nicer.

So Newtworks comes on the CD.. no I didn't get a CD with the newton, unfortunately. On the eMate, newtworks is in the ROM, I've done the complete deep-reset / erase internal store on the eMate and newtworks is still there afterwards.

I found a copy of the MP21k cd-rom online at the unna archives.

Thanks for the information!
