Dear Palm, Inc.--

Since APPLE is really the only major computer manufacturer to sell your product along with their own (it seems the others are all pushing the Windows CE, or other formats), how about returning the favor and providing some MAC SUPPORT???

1) The Palm Desktop is totally stale, with no real update in at least a year now. Not to mention that it doesn't work in OS-X!

2) You can stop sending me unsolicitated e-mails, trying to get me to sign up with your online Palm-website. While your database shows that I'm a Mac user, the site itself doesn't sync using a Mac. By the way, you don't find this out until after you've signed up. So now, I've signed up with your site, I can't use it, and I STILL get those e-mails telling me how great it is!

3) I'm not the first to say it. How about a real USB cradle?

Seriously, Apple displays the Palm in it's Apple stores and on it's website, as being a high quality product, and a nice addition to any Mac. How about making them honest?

Ok, ok, I had to vent a little. . .but I would like to see some serious Mac support from Palm.

1) They're working on it.
2) Tell them that. There must be a "send a message here to have your name removed from our mailing list" info in the emails. If not, email Palm customer service about it.
3) Get a Handspring Visor. They all have out-of-the-box Mac support and USB cradles included.

Thanks for your thoughts. However,

1) Have they made any announcement or anything? I haven't seen anything. If something's officially in progress, then that's wonderful. If they've mentioned "increased Mac support," which could mean just about anything, then I'm less than happy.

2) Done that. It still keeps coming. Haven't written customer support yet, though.

3) Yeah, I know, but my Palm predates Visor. I'd rather see Palm get their act together rather than spend another, what, $300, for essentially the same product, but with "full functionality."

Like I said, just doing some venting. I would like to see Palm get their Mac support going again. Things were fine a couple of years ago.

As for the OSX Palm Desktop, I remember seeing it somewhere, though I don't remember where.

On the other issues, I see your point totally. When I went PDA shopping, I went with the Visor on account of Springboard and the Mac friendliness. Whenever possible, I try to support the companies that support me by supporting Apple. Mac friendliness is a great feature, and Handspring knows (and advertises) that. Hopefully Palm is taking a page from the HS book and doing likewise. I believe the newer models like the m500 series (and maybe the m100 series, too) feature USB cradle/ Sync cables, so they are taking steps in the right direction.
