check it out over at www.palminfocenter.com its a new handheld by a company called handera. they used to be called trgpro. its got some great features, software graffiti that can be minimized for more (yes more) screen space, 2 types of expansion, it looks like a winner to me. check it out and lemme know what you guys think.

Too many darned PDA's to keep up with! I want so many of these new features, but I recently bought a Handspring Visor, so I guess I'm stuck with it for a while. I only recently realized that my 2MB model is not enough. I'm going to buy the 8MB module soon.

Looks cool but 1) no cool color 2) same big ass palm III form-factor
3) most importantly no USB! I don't even OWN a computer with serial any more. What good is a 64mb CF card if it takes you a day to load all your software?

Me things I am ordereding a M505 now that Handera has played their card...(Though I will admit the soft Graffiti area is WAY cool!

hmm. im not sure about the USB cradle thing, i didnt read anything that said it came with a non-USB cradle. but i do know it has the form factor of a palm iii so you could get a palm iii USB cable. this thing is the **** as far as im concerned. this IS the next step forward in palm design in my opinion. higher resolution screen. bigger screen. soft graffiti, lots of expandability. if i had the money, i would go for it. ill just stick with my trusty palm iii. its all i need.

So what if you use the USB cable adapter to a serial cradle? It is still running at serial speeds versus USB speeds.

This is to nigeljedi:

If you're still within a certain time limit, (where ever you bought it), they may let you return it if you upgraded to the Deluxe model. I bought my from Handspring and within 2 weeks knew that I had bought the wrong model. The price of the 8 Meg card was almost the same as the difference between the Visor and the VIsor Deluxe, so I sent my Visor back and ordered the Deluxe. Now I have the module port free and still have 8 Meg.

There is no such thing, AFAIK. The Palm m50x series and the Visors are the only ones to have USB-based cradles.

I appreciate that, but, unfortunately, It's been awhile. I ordered it from MacMall, and they're pretty tight on returns outside of the 30 day window...

Hi Folks!

Yes, it is Mac-Compatible!
I´ve got a TRGpro, and it syncs to my Pismo(and iMac, and Perf.6400) via IrDA and Serial.
There´s also tho option for USB.:-))

....if installing takes hours.......well, use a CF-Card-Reader! A PC-Card<->CF Adapter costs about 12$.

No Color, well, ask yourself: do you reallyneed it?
I´d take the CF-option anyday in favour of the Colour display.
And to be honest: if the Handera had been out 2 months earlier, I would have bought it. Instead I bought the TRGpro, but I do not regret it.

....Size sucks...., No, it does not suck the Palm III form-Factor does make sense. Think of the peripherals available for it! think of Cases, cables .... And it fits in my Shirt-pocket. So it´s not too large. It is smaller than CE-devices.;-)

So, yes, tjis is the m505 and WinCE killer. I´d say it´s as good as a Newton!:-)

Greetings,
Morgoth

This device was reviewed in the Wall Street Journal recently. First off, only apps that are rewritten to take advantage of the extra screen real estate cn access the soft graffiti area. So far, TRG has only rewritten the basic palm functions. More surprisingly, SOME apps won't even work (primarily some action games). It's a nice idea, but unless the industry adopts it, it's not a big step forward.
