I've been using a psion 5mx for two years now (very common in europe). It has a large screen and respectable keyboard, that's why I use it. But... they are anti-mac, so it is impossible to do any synchronisation with my mac = HORROR
The palm-visor is beginning to look very attractive, since it is fully compatible with mac
Could someone guide me through an acquisition of a PDA (+ accessoires and software) fully compatible with mac with very easy synchronisation (wireless through airport would be great) and full size keyboard. I use entourage as e-mail and adress book and I would like to be able to synchronize everything with a pda. I'm not afraid of an important investment for top of the line.
Could someone help me out?

a happy mac addict

I'm sure this thread will be a heated one

Personally, I just bought a Visor Deluxe a month ago, and I love it! I wasn't quite sure about getting another PDA, since I had a Newton a long time ago and didn't dig it. I'm glad I changed my mind.

I use Entourage too, and unfortunately, it doesn't support e-mail sync. And as far as I can tell, the only third-party conduit, MultiMail, only supports Outlook Express, Eudora Pro/Light and Claris Emailer. Bummer.

As far as a good Palm compatible outfit goes:

Handspring Visor Platinum
Targus Stowaway Folding Keyboard
or
LandWare GoType Keyboard (non-folding)
and various modems, the coolest being the Xircom SpringPort Modem 56

Xircom is supposedly coming out with a AirPort compatible SpringBoard card...so who knows, before long we might be able to sync with Airport!

If you're looking for a PalmOS based PDA, I'd go with the Handspring Visor. It has mac compatibility right out of the box. The only issue that could come up in the mac-compatibility part is the fact that the cradle is USB, so you'll need a serial adaptor if you don't have a USB port on your computer. There are several keyboards available, just check www.handspring.com

Handspring Visor,I have one and it is great, I also have the gotype keyboard.
but wait, Handspring dropped the price on the Visor Delouxe which should mean that they are coming out with something new, rumors are that it is called the Visor Edge and should look something like the palmV or sony clie.
If you want something now and money isn't an issue the Visor Prism is NICE.

At least at the Asylum, they treat me with respect.
