Nice Wacom tablet. I just have the cheap Graphire but have been thinking if getting an Intuos. How do you like it?

It does say Lexar... it's a Firewire Compact Flash card reader

I have a Graphire 4x5 as well. To be honest, the quality increase is inspiring. When I had my Graphire I couldn't get inspired to draw. All my lines came out squiggly or rough. I didn't think an Intuos would be much different, but it really is.

If you visit the Wacom site you can see the difference in specs, but they neglect to tell you that while the Graphire feels like drawing on plastic (with plastic), the Intuos feels like drawing a blemish-free canvas with a fine-point marker (Depends on which nibs you use as well. It comes with a whole bunch. Springy ones for painting, rough ones for charcoals, etc). It really is sensational.

One thing I didn't like at first was the size. With a 4x5 you get used to covering the entire screen with a flick of the wrist. But my Intuos is a 9x12. It might not sound daunting, but it really is. You really have to move your arms around. I got used to it though, and now I could never go back.

The 9x12 is great, but it's almost too much. Unless you're really into canvas paintings, you might find it too tasking. If you're using your tablet to replace your mouse, or just for casual sketches, then I'd recommend the 6x8 (or 6x11 if you have a widescreen). It's also alot cheaper then the 9x12.

But everything about it is so awesome. The sensitivity is outstanding, and the ability to tilt your brush rocks. The shortcut buttons come in handy, especially the touch sliders. I think, by default, they're set to zoom and change brush size, but you can assign any shortcut key to them. The only thing I find dumb about the shortcut buttons is how awkward it is to reach over your drawing hand just to press a shortcut key on the left side. It'd be faster to use your keyboard. But I guess they have them on the left side for left-handed people.

Wow, this got long. Haha, to sum it up: buy one, it's well worth the penny!

I have an el-cheapo tablet-drawing-pen-thingy as well from a long time ago, never could get used to it and mine was NOT a Wacom. Since I now do my comic I have been thinking about getting a Wacom though!

Well, once I get some money rolling in I might just have to grab me one of them, very nice!

Thanks! You should see the chords I'm hiding! I used to have that glass desk but it was just too impractical. Here's my whole desk (my scanner, external hard drive, camera, camcorder, iPod, subwoofer, and phone are all hidden inside of it), I couldn't help but iPhoto it up:

Like most teenagers nowadays, I have pretty bad posture. I got the knee chair because I heard it helps straighten you out. Not only has it done that, but it's probably the comfiest chair I've used. It's almost *impossible* to slouch in this chair. It really forces good posture.

My only regret is that it doesn't have a backrest for those times you just want to relax.

bjones211, that thing looks huge! I love the wallpaper too. That's one thing Windows will never have over Apple. The defaul Apple wallpapers are gourgeous

Very nice! I love the giant Apple logo on the wall. I would've loved to have that lab in my elementary school!
