What do do w/ a used eMac?

So I just came into possession of an eMac that my Grandmother no longer uses. I'm not sure of the exact specs, but I've already got an Intel Core Duo 24" iMac and MacBook Air. Could I use it as an iTunes server? Any other thoughts? Can you upgrade the eMacs to Snow Leopard?

Snow Leopard will only run on Intel Macs.

I put my old G4 Tower on a TV in the garage for exercise videos... I have iTheater installed (only PPC compatible media center I could find that wasn't a POS) and it hasn't been updated in years...works great though.

I could use my main PC as my iTunes media server, but I turn it off. I leave my server on, so I can always access it.

Given that the eMac has a built in CRT display, wouldn't running it as an always-on-server end up being little more costly than necessary in terms of energy usage? I'd just give or sell the thing to someone who has a need for an inexpensive computer.

Well if you set it to sleep the CRT after a minute, surely it'd be fine - but I see what you mean.

I have an old one in my classroom that my students use to do research. As it's only used for the internet it does quite well.

The shipping weight is a problem on ebay. Craigslist with local pickup could work. You cannot install Snow Leopard on it because all eMacs are PPC. Leopard will work except on some of the very first eMacs, which started at 700 MHz.
It would also work nicely as a kid's computer. From before they get into first-person shooters that the GPU can't keep up with. Should work up until they turn 6 or 7.

If you're into DIY, then you can convert it to a headless emac. All you really need is an ATX PSU. Check out this article; Headless eMac

Leopard runs fine on my 800 MHz G4 iMac, although you need a (non-permanent) hack to install it.
