Student looking for mac

I am a high school student and I am looking to spend about 6 or 7 hundred on a mac, maybe a B&W powermac g3, or a powerbook g3. Anyone know where I should look, or have something I might be interested in? I want to use X, watch DVD's, and run office/gaming apps, but the DVD drive is not essential. Also, what do you reccomend to use to run X? I know that you can buy a computer for 300 that will run it, (according to apple's requirements) but will it be fast?

I too have a post for a 400 Mhz DV SE iMac that should meet all your needs. My post should be there. Otherwise, here are the specs:
400 MHz
384 megs of PC 100 2-2-2 ram
13 gig hard-drive
Mac OS X 10.1.5 and OS 9.2.2
Fully updated
Boat load of software (office for one)
Great working condition
