Hello,

Just joined these forums. Looks like a wonderful resource for info. Hi all!

I am trying to upgrade a PM-8600 so my nephew can work on some video projects.

A friend gave me a G3/300 ZIF, so I need a carrier card.

Also, any 168pin memory would be swell. 64mb chips or bigger please.

Finally, a SCSI 50pin internal/ 25pin external drive would be quite nice too. 20gb or larger. Are older drives this big?

If I can get all these, chris(the nephew) won't have to upgrade for a bit, and just might be able to get some of his projects done by years end... ;-)

Thanks for reading!

I have two 18.2 7200 RPM SCSIU2 internal drives. SCSI is quite pricey... I paid almost $400 each for them (actually $600 for one and $350 for the other). I use them now, but could let them go for around $150 each ($250 for the pair) + shipping&Insurance. I paid so much for them, and they still have some use for me -- wish I could afford to give them away.

You might be better off looking on eBay... There are a few really cheap drives on there right now (cheaper than I could ever sell mine for). Example: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=2044897878

T-

Thanks for the reply.

Ya, I figured the drives would be pricey. Maybe I'll just get the carrier card and pass it on. It'll be good for chris to learn how to upgrade his machine anyway.

All the best,
