I have emailed the seller in this auction. They claim to have a couple more iMacs not listed on eBay yet.

The positive rating is compelling. I'm not even looking to buy an iMac, but at that price, it's hard to pass up.

This seller has sold other iMacs at this price (I ran an eBay search).

Is this legit? I hate to lose $800+.

I looked at his ebay evals and most of them are very small amount purchases/sales, which is common in scammers who like to up their feedback quickly so they can appear to be "legit." also of notice is the fact that none of his previous sales were imacs.

I would recomend requesting either that you set this deal up through an escrow(you pay the money to it, he delivers the product, you say product is ok, he gets the money), or do a COD. Offer to pay the fees, as this is a very good deal if true, so the little bit extra won't hurt. If he declines, chances are he's a fraud.

no way it's legit, unless it's just some rich kid playing 'ebay' and wanting to dump his first-gen lcd imac for the new 17" model.

most likely a scam. buyer beware!

The seller is no longer a registered ebay user. Also, his feedback is a lot of small buys, not a large sale.
