Hey. I was wondering if any of you could kindly advise me as to what I should do regarding a Mac purchase.

I'm a High School student and money is a big issue. I had a G4 400 Gigabit with Radeon a little over a year ago, but I foolishly sold it because I needed cash. The system was more than adequate for my needs.

Now I am looking to purchase a system again. I'd like $600 to be the limit, excluding software. I can pick up OS X for $69.

My needs are not all that demanding. I don't play games. I simply surf the net, encode and listen to my music, burn music, and word process. That's about it.

I was thinking a blue and white G3 would be perfect, but I'd value your advice. Also, if any of you know of a system for sale, please let me know.

you could probably find a G4 400 on eBay for $600 or so. Just make sure it comes with monitor. That kind of system would be better than the old blud and white G3.

Or see if you can get a G4 466, its not only 66 MHz faster but it has the faster system bus speed that will be better for OS X and has the digital audio port, among other things.

I saw one on eBay for $699 buy it now.
