We bought this camcorder as a refurb unit. Somehow, there is a hole in the top of the viewfinder tube. It does not go all the way through and does not affect the functionality of the unit... it's just there. When we got it, since it was "cosmetic" they wouldn't do anything about it, so we just put a name-label over it (a nice metalic Dymo label) and went on with life. Also has wear-marks on side of unit where metalic paint job is starting to wear off.
Used it for one school project, and it performed wonderfully. Wife and I don't have kids yet... and are so busy with school, we don't have time to use it. This is a great camcorder, and comes with manual (hefty,) power cable, battery, hand and shoulder straps, and video cables, (rca video, stereo audio, and S-video.) Functions PERFECTLY. Excellent picture quality. Works without a hitch with iMovie, FCP, etc.
Same unit, used, but without the cosmetic flaws, just sold on eBay for over $400.00. Since this is a used, refurb unit with some cosmetic damage, I realize it will be significantly lower than that. First $200 takes it, shipped.
