Is anyone interested in a Canon GL1 NTCS DVD Camera?
The unit has less than 2 hours of use, and is packed in the orginal box. Most people won't know it from new....
I'm looking somewhere in the $1800 range. Post here if you are intrested, I will contact you.

Mind i I ask why you are selling a cam that has less than 2 hours of use? I might be interested and I'm just curious.

I am an editor by trade, and decided to write and direct some of my own films. Well, I cant write fast enough, and instead of shooting this past summer, I have to put production off till 2003. In the meantime, I'd prefer to shoot on an XL1 (thinkin about 16:9) so I'll sell this one and get a new one before I shoot.
The only item I dont have from the original box is the DV Tape, but it only came with a 30 min tape anyways.
Even the warrenty card is included. Never filled out, so in Canon's eyes, this is brand new.
with much crap

I have a GL1. It's a great camera. I paid $1600 I think from a nasty looking joint in Brooklyn NY. The GL2 is out now though pushing the price down. I think the GL2 has just a few new features that I don't expect improve on the excellent quality video the GL1 shoots.
However.. some companies will insist on the original receipt and judge warranty service expiration based on that receipt.
I think the way to unload a camera like this for anything near fair value is probably to trade it for something. You may find a mint dual processor G4/800 or something out there. Maybe a good LCD display or high end digital snapshot camera.
Cameras don't depreciate as fast as computers do.

If they do, they are not a Canon Authorized Service Center and shouldn't have their hands on your camera. Canon is an amazing company to deal with, the best customer service in any industry. You buy a GL1 in 2004 and as long as the warrenty card is blank, you'd get service from Canon.
The GL2, while nice, went UP in price, thus not pushing the price of the GL1 very far down. In fact, I sold the camera yesterday for $2200 with an extra battery.
In the meantime, I went ahead and bought my XL1 today. Such a better camera.
crapfully yours,
