How much are IDE cables? You might get a better response if you fixed the IDE cable then sold this iBook as a fully functional machine.

pbparts.com wants $200 for it. The cable cannot be repaired, I've tried that. It's basically aluminum foil between 2 sheets of plastic.

When I worked for 3yrs as an Apple tech, we sometimes ordered parts from www.preownedelectronics.com You'll have to call a 1-800 # first to get set up with an account though. They usually had ok prices with some exceptions.
