If anyone is willing to sell one of these now at $900. email me. I will take a 600Mhz w/100Mhz sys bus ($800.) or a 500Mhz ($700.), but must have combo drive.
Thanks, DAve

Mac Warehouse is now selling these for $1194. with free extra 256mb, printer, and case. I still have my offer open for buying a used one for $900., but don't wait forever. The Mac prices on the older ibooks are dropping faster than the NYSE.

They're dropping semi-quickly, but not too drastically, I sold my 700 Combo for $1100 on eBay (a bit less than the $1250 people were pulling a week before the new iBooks, but still not too bad). I don't think you'll find anyone willing to sell at $900.

If I wanted to buy the new one for $1194. with printer and case I would have done so already. I am looking for a previously owned one that maybe some one wants to sell at a lower price ($900.) Why would I go on ebay and bid on a used 700Mhz for $1100.? Within weeks the price will come down as it did at Mac Warehouse.

The prices on used iBook 700's has been the same since the moment the 800's were announced, and it will remain the same until the next revision is announced (Probably April or May), so I dont know how or why you think the prices will continue to drop.

All I'm saying is why would anyone pay more for a used 700MHZ than they could buy a new one for? With word of the new machines coming out why would you spend your cash on older machines??? These prices will come down when demand lessens as you can already see in pricing of MacWarehouse.Check them out, 700Mhz, extra 256MB, printer and case $1194. Maybe you don't see the price coming down right now or don't want to beleive it, but with the holidays coming up this is their last chance to broom them, considering the way the economy is. I bought a 500Mhz iBook at Micro Center this past summer for $699. and a free $100. gift card. I haven't seen one of these on ebay go for below $800.??? I choose to buy my machines at actual value, not perceived value.

I understand what you're saying, but if people are willing to buy my iBook (or someone else's 700 combo) for $1100, why should we lose money and sell it to you for $200 less?

If you do find someone to sell it to you at $900, then that's great for you.

People are paying more for the old 700s than the new 700s because the old ones can read dvds and burn cds.
The new ones only have a cd-rom drive, so are somewhat limited.

Good for you. Unfortunately for you no one is going to give you a deal on one since they would like to get the maximum amount in resale and not your assumed value for the laptop. Again, go to eBay. There you can name your own price and no one will argue with you. Prices will come down to the price point you want to buy at, just not here and not today.

Yes, today IS the day. The Apple Store has refurbs 700Mhz with combo drive, 12" screen at $999. with warranty. They have the same in 14" for $1299. My day has come. Run, don't walk to ebay to sell your ibooks.
