I got paid for some work in hard drives, so here we go:
Desktop drives:
(3) (SOLD)Quantum Viking II 4.5 LVD 3.5 series. These have a Dell part number and a 68 pin SCSI connector. 4.5 GB if I remember right. I tried two of these in my PowerMac and they work but are kind of loud. (SOLD)
(1) Fujitsu MAE3091LP. This is a 7200 rpm 9.1 GB drive with an Ultra2 SCSI 68-pin LVD interface.
(1) Fujitsu MAG3091LP. Also a 9.1 GB drive (10,000 rpm on this one) with the Ultra2 68 pin interface.
I tried these two drives in my PowerMac, and have formatted them with HDT-PE Toolkit. They format out at 8.5 GB. If anybody is interested, I will load OS 9.0.4 on them and see if they boot and mount properly on my Beige G3.
Server drives (1.6 inch height):
(2) HP 36.4 GB Ultra2 10K SCSI Drive. HP part number D8210A. This has an LVD/Ultra2 SCSI/single port 80 pin interface. It runs at 10,000 rpm. I wasn't able to test these, as I don't have the 80 pin adapter. I'll try and find one if anybody is interested.
(1) Fujitsu MAF3364LP. This is a 33.6 GB drive with an Ultra2 SCSI 68 pin LVD interface running at 10,000 rpm. I was able to get HDT Toolkit to recognize this drive, and installed one of the two I got in my PowerMac beige G3 in place of the missing zip drive. I had to make a slight internal case modification with a Dremel tool to accomodate the adapter, and now I have an mp3 server with an incredibly fast drive! You could do this too!
Notebook drives: (unsure of the interface; probably IDE)
(2) Fujitsu MHK 2120 AT
(1) Fujitsu MHK 2048 AT
(2) Fujitsu MHK 2090 AT
(1) Hitachi DK 239A-65
(1) Hitachi DK 23AA-12 (12.07GB)
(1) Hitachi DK 239A-60 (6007 MB)
(1) Hitachi DK22AA-18 (18.14 GB) [this one is taller than the other Hitachi drives]
Make a reasonable offer; I will refrain from posting these on eBay or otherwise selling them before January 1, 2003.
