This isn't "Selling" - This is "Auctioning."

If you're going to auction something, don't fool me into looking at it by wrongly saying it's for sale- it isn't. It's for auction.
If this post is in the Lounge forum, it is likely to be my own opinion, and not representative of the position of MacNN.com.

Wow. Chill out, man. I didn't realize the semantic police were here. And if you want to be precise about it, something that is up for auction, is 'for sale'. An auction is a type of sale.

And I'm sorry if you felt 'fooled' into looking at it. I apologize for wasting that four seconds of your life.

The whole point of using FS, WTB, and FA, or writing it out is to let people know in the subject what type of deal it is.

Saying it's one thing and then opening the post to find another is annoying.

Maybe but the thing is most people might be interested in buying it straight out, rather than going through an auction. Infact they might be put off all together, so it is more appropriate to specify FS or FA, or atleast to give a selling price in your post- for those who might be interested.

I've never bought or sold anything here. If there are rules about the subject lines, they should be put in a sticky post at the top of the thread. Otherwise, you should be nice about it when you correct people.

Please change the title of my post to FA. While you are at it, you can change the title of the two other posts that I put up this evening to FA as well.
