Just to let you know, I have a Umax S900 with a Twin Turbo and I was thinking of upgrading. I think an ATI chip would be your best bet. You can get a Rage that used to be in somebodys g4 desktop for pretty cheap; I have seen them go for as low as $15.

Also, if you have no plans to upgrade to OSX, look in the NYC chapter of www.craigslist.com and do a search in the classified sales section for a 3dfx Voodoo5 card. Pretty awesome performance under 9 and he only wants $35

good luck

Oh, forgot to say that you can't take most of the cards from the G4 series, cause they are AGP. You need a PCI based card.

I say to look for a Voodoo3 2000 or 3000 PCI card. They go for around $25-$40 on ebay. They originally were PC only, but 3dfx released a rom flasher that allowed them to work with macs. 16MB of ram is plenty.

I like peanut butter
