I have been looking for an older mac with cd rom and this is really cool but the site you linked to says it is est. price of 100-250.

how hard is it to upgrade? like to swap hard drives.

but I don't think you will drop 50% in price.

It shouldn't be $500. At least in my opinion, which I'm sure doesn't count.

If you are interested in this computer, PLEASE, make me an offer. If you're NOT, maybe you could kinda keep your mouth shut. If you don't want it, don't bid on it. You don't have to ruin a possible sale with your opinions of what YOU think MY computer is worth.

Yeah, EveryMac lists a value LOWER than I'm asking as a BOOK VALUE, but if you would get a little more specific, you'd see that they list an original price of $1699, and then say that it's a 'popular collector's item' that 'holds it's value' as a STREET VALUE. The two are very different, just as it it is becoming clear that a LOT of you guys seem to think you have a better idea what MY stuff is worth than *I* even do...

If you MUST know, my only means of transportation just died. If you just ruined my sale (yeah, I DID have a legitimate offer), I wanted you to know that...

Its not worth more than $100, unless its new in box or something. Might be cool, but you can buy nearly the exact same computer in beige for far less than $500.

Using a sob story as justification for cheating someone out of their money?

I wish it were not true but the Mac-TV is not worth what you think, at least not here in these forums.

I have one in my basement in the box because I wont sell it for what it is worth. It was just too cool when I got it and it is an interesting peice of Mac history just not an especially valuable one.

Even on eBay which can be a good place to sell stuff for more than it is worth they don't bring enough for you and it is not hard to figure that out.

On the other hand it is worth whatever someone will pay for it and I have been surprised before about the price some will pay if they want it bad enough.

There also seems to be a nasty attitude here that goes to people who are overly optimistic about the value of their items and maybe the original post was innocent about this.

The car problem comment sort of cancels this out though

Good Luck
