This is the high rez display made for Silicon Graphics for use by digital video artists . Two years ago it cost more than a G4 and is still nearly the best - certainly at this selling price.
It's the model 1600SW and has the alternative, wide format screen vs. standard displays. It's 17+" visible and is about half the weight and one third the size of a CRT.
As you cannot simply connect it to a Mac - this one comes with the proper Formac/Number Nine video card and easily slips into a card slot in your G4. Total install time - 3 minutes. ...nothing special.
$550. get's both the display and the card. If you've not moved to a 20"+ CRT - this is a great alternative. Shipping within the contl. U.S. is about $30. Checks OK.
I got a new iMac. it's nice...but I wish I knew the display would look fuzzy in comparison?!
