This powerbook is in good shape and works very well, I am the original owner and have maintained it well, replacing the screen clutches (a common problem with heavily used Lombards) and monitor cable last fall. The new 20GB hard drive was installed in fall of 2001 as was the 256MB ram upgrade.
The battery still works and holds about 1 hours charge at this time. It's easy to get ahold of new batteries if battery life is important to you.
The eject button for the PC Card slot is broken, but the slot still works fine (used everyday for my Compact Flash Cards and Wireless Network card).
The built in ethernet port is interminant, but can be worked around with a wireless or wired PC Card adapter.
This machine works very well with Office, iMovie, iPhoto etc, and is a great alternative to a 14" iBook.
