I have a PC with the specs below

2.4ghz P4(533mhz bus) - Overclocked to 2.7 with no problems
512M of Corsair XMS series CAS2 PC2700 memory
80gig Western Digital HD(8 meg cache)
Radeon 9500 video card(used driver hack to make it 9700 with no artifacts)
Lite-on DVD drive
Lite-on 52x cd-rw
Asus p4pe motherboard with firewire, usb2, gigabit ethernet, and sound
Antec 1080 preformance plus case with 400watt powersupply

Was wondering if anyone was interested in buying, or in trading for a newer mac(hopefully powerbook) but I'll consider a desktop.

-corrected about 3 spelling mistakes..heh I should learn to check spelling of things before I post them. Any questions, just reply to the post.

Well, I was hoping for a newer Powerbook, like a 867mhz 15", or if it was a desktop, like a dual 1ghz....I already have a monitor I'd use(a Sony 19" Trintron). I don't really mind this PC, but it just doesn't fit my style. I don't have the time anymore to keep messing with my computer, I'd like something that just worked, and kinda would like a laptop for college :-)

Pacience, young padawan, pacience. These things take time. I would reccomend posting this at other sites as well, but I would also rachet down your expectations quite a bit. You might be able to find a 500mhz TiBook for your PC, but not a newer one; PC's don't hold value any better than the Titanic.

maybe my head was in the clouds a bit, but that's just my personality ;-)

I'm willing to hear just what people have to offer as always....it's still up in the air. I'll see what happens.

sighs......

well, I tried......I guess if I can't trade this now, I'll have to wait until I can save up some $$$ and see what's avaliable by fall.

If anyone is interested just reply with what you want to offer(any offer at least considered). Otherwise, this is my last post to the thread :-(

I'd say you'd get between $700-$900, which is putting you in either the eMac or (used) iBook range. Like what was posted earlier, PC's don't hold their values at all, especially desktops. My advice, if your going to college next fall wait till you go up to school and see if your bookstore is offering any promotions on new Mac's. Recently we had a promotion going for the TiBook with the superdrive with Applecare for $2038. Plus buying next fall you'll get newer models than whats out now and will be using the newest stuff at school.
