Since MacNN is one of the more active Mac-related technology forums on the web, I figured I'd bounce this off of you guys.

I have a six-week-old PowerBook 15" for sale, brand-new condition:

G4 1 GHz
Full 1 GB RAM
Mobility Radeon 9000 64 MB GPU
60 GB HD
Airport installed (802.11b)
SuperDrive (DVD-R/CDRW)

The unit is in *flawless* condition: no scratches, smudges, or blemishes; the LCD is perfect with no dead or stuck pixels; the machine is functionally perfect.

I have all original packaging materials, software, documentation, and warranty information (the machine has NOT been registered with Apple yet). Again, the unit is 6 weeks old.

Asking $2500 shipped.

To clarify, I will pick up shipping to anywhere within the domestic US. No charge.

Email me at "jeff@is300.net" if interested, or, of course, simply reply here.

Serious inquiries only, please.

That's a pretty sweet deal!

I already have that system (working on it) and I have to say, it's REALLY nice.

I'm going to pass the word around about your system.

Dude, you just posted this here and it was moved to the marketplace forum where it not only belongs, but where you also have another thread selling the same item:

http://forums.macnn.com/showthread.p...hreadid=161218

http://forums.macnn.com/showthread.p...hreadid=159920

I don't think it's six weeks old anymore and I still think you're asking a bit too much (especially with all the hot rumors of an update flying around). Nonetheless, good luck...

Exactly. Please don't spam this forum with for sale messages.

Why are you selling such a flawless machine? Just curious.

He bought a "MUCH" better Thinkpad T40 or some such thing. His glee regarding his "re-switching" has dampened some enthusiasm for his "slow" TiBook. He shouldn't be surprised, <sarcasm>why would someone want to purchase his "measly" 1GHz Powerbook?</sarcasm>

Good God. I bought a machine that I like better, and that works beter for me. Can you understand that?

Quite literally, it's people like you who make the Mac community as uninformed, ignorant, and close-minded as it is. Even the most clueless Windows nuts aren't as big of a turn-off as you.

I purchased a ThinkPad T40 and my office will reimburse me 75% of the cost, which means, in the end, I got a new top-of-the-line T40 for 25% of its retail cost. Pretty good deal, and there's no sense in keeping two ultra-high-end laptops sitting around.

Posting the for sale ad in this forum *again* when you've already had the previous thread moved/locked does not exactly endear you to the community here and is bound to generate some ill will. It is hard enough to wade through the duplicate posts and topics without having someone's spam tossed in as well.

I read the T-40 has no firewire or writable DVD. That would immediately put it out of my mind but I guess if it does what you need it for then fine. Hope you are enjoying it.

Oh, I understand. I just don't care.

Hmmm... good point. Then you should leave with all haste. Wouldn't want you to become as "uninformed, ignorant, and close-minded" as we are, it might be contagious.

Oh how you misunderstand, I never was here to "turn you on", check out a strip club if you're looking for that kind of action. None of us are here for your amusement.

Plus, I find it humorous. You troll around in a Mac forum touting the virtues of your Wintel thang, then you expect for a person on these forums to bail you out by buying your TiBook. As mentioned earlier, you've even gone through all the trouble to spam the PB forum not once, but twice, when you know full well that such posts are only to be made in the Marketplace. Now, move along and go play with the PeeCee people and take your TiBook to ebay, and don't let the front page whack you on the bum on the way out.

I don't "troll around." I participate in discussions and interject facts about the so very hated Windows platforms. If you take the time to read, you'd know I like the Mac very, very much, and I think OSX is a fine platform. Unlike you, however, I don't sit around in circle-jerks so I can feel good about my purchase, and I can realize virtues of other platforms without feeling insecure about my computer.

then you expect for a person on these forums to bail you out by buying your TiBook.
Bail me out? I don't need to be "bailed out" of anything. I have a new TiBook, hardly used, in perfect condition that I figured I'd bounce off the Mac community first before going the Ebay route. I've gleaned a lot of information from this site, and I assumed someone out there would like a TiBook for several hundred dollars less than they could get it elsewhere. What's so difficult to understand here? Do you REALLY think that I should be shunned when I'm offering a pristine product just because I bought a Windows machine? Are you KIDDING?

Grow up. For real.

Now, move along and go play with the PeeCee people
God you're a twit.

As far as I'm concerned, there are no "PC people." There are no "Mac people." We're talking about two computers who do the same job. It's a tool, a device, a machine.

Out of the wide MacNN ocean, your posts are continually the most uninformed, defensive, apologetic, and zealous. You're a small-minded fool who is fighting a platform battle that's (a) irrelevant, and (b) long since decided.

As Jobs himself said: "The desktop wars are over. Microsoft won."

Wake the hell up. Jesus.

and take your TiBook to ebay, and don't let the front page whack you on the bum on the way out.
You assume, because I have a Windows machine, that Mac owners are now my enemy and I won't be here anymore? LOL

Are you 12 years old? Seriously. You have ice cream in your hair.

No, I just play him on TV.

You still here? Pitiful.

Damn, look at the time, I gotta go... I'm late for the circle-jerk!

$2,500 can get you a new PowerBook with AppleCare.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=14909

I'd consider buying it for $2,000.

waitaminute.

I was sure that I moved this thread to the Marketplace forum, which is for all for sale threads.

(looks)

Yep, I did. I even put the reason there- it's a for sale thread, it goes in the for sale forum, Marketplace.

Posting it here again is just irritating.

I'm glad you got a thinkpad. I'm glad your work is paying for it. May it provide you with many months of faithful service.

When something is transferred out of this forum, please, don't presume I don't know what I'm doing. If you want to question it, ask me. I'll be happy to explain myself.
If this post is in the Lounge forum, it is likely to be my own opinion, and not representative of the position of MacNN.com.
