Currently pending!

Hi folks,
I'm attempting to sell my bike. It's a model year 2000 Gary Fisher Supercaliber, size LG. I'm 5'10" and it fits me fine. It's a Team SAAB and, of course, features a genesis frame geometry, which makes it easy to ride uphill.

SPECS:
Colors: Amarillo Yellow and Team Red
Size: LG
Main Frame: 6061 T6 double butted aluminum (Genesis Geometry)
Front Shock: RockShox SID Race (red)
Rear Shock: N/A
Headset: WTB Momentum Com[ (Greaseguard)
Bottom Bracket: Shimano UN72
Crank: Bontrager RaceLite 44/32/22
Front Derailleur: Shimano XT
Rear Derailleur: Shimano XTR
Shifters/Brake Levers: Shimano XT
Cassette: Shimano XT 9-speed
Chain: Shimano HG72
Front Hub/Front Rim/Front Spokes: Bontrager RaceLite Wheelsystem
Rear Hub/Rear Rim/Rear Spokes: Bontrager RaceLite Wheelsystem
Front/Rear Brake: AVID Single Digit 25 (magnesium - linear pull)
Handlebar: Bontrager RaceLite
Stem: Bontrager Race
Saddle: Selle Italia (titanium rails)
Seatpost: Bontrager Race

This bike originally retailed for $2599, I believe. It rides like a champ, but I haven't ridden it much, unfortunatelly (NYC). I participated in BikeNY last year and had no problems with the bike. I haven't ridden it since, so it's been sitting around for just over one year. It will definitely need to be dusted off, and I suppose a tune-up wouldn't hurt; I wouldn't ride it hard without making sure that everything is tight and in place.
I would like $700 + shipping for it. Shipping would be determined through a local shop, but I wouldn't think it's more than $60 to anywhere in the continental US. Pick-ups are also welcomed.
I accept paypal (I'm verified), money orders and personal checks.
If you'd like to see actual pics of it, please let me know. The bike is in excellent physical condition, by the way; barely a scratch on it.

Thanks for stopping by and please buy my bike.

NOTE: This is available for sale through Wednesday, July 16th, at which point I will try to make other plans for it.

NOTE 2: I will include a bunch of accessories with it, such as an unused Selle Italia saddle (yellow, gel, Ti rails), a pair of free-style biking sneakers size 9.5 (not used), a once-worn TREK helmet (wore it for BikeNY; I hate helmets), $50 bar ends, bottle holder, bottle, saddle bag and whatever else I have available here.

NOTE 3: I hope that this is not too out of place here. I would also be interested in a nice iBook in trade (12" only). I'd prefer something with a 700Mhz+ processor, plenty of RAM (preferably 640MB), a 30GB HDD, and a combo drive. Of course, the faster the better. I would even be willing to add cash on top of the bike for the iBook. The only musts here are the 12" screen and the combo drive. I'd like to get this for my girlfriend.

NOTE 4: I have references under igobyte on heatware and on ebay. I've been trading on other forums for quite some time.

I would like to see some picts of it. Also, is it on ebay, or or you just selling it here?

Currently, I'm just selling it here. If it doesn't sell and I decide not to keep it afterall, I will put it up on ebay.

I will email you pics of it shortly.

Actually...

Dettociao over at ArsTechnica was good enough to host the pics I emailed him the other day.

You can view them all here:

These are my original pictures. I took them two days ago and emailed them to a couple of people who requested. Please note that [as I mentioned above] the bike has been sitting around here [unridden] for over a year and it's dusty. However, aside from the dust, the bike is in excellent physical condition.

I have no relationship with the seller at all. I don't know who he is, if he's a con artist or a saint.

At $700, that bike should sell in 20 seconds. With XT/XTR grouppo and being in good shape, it's easily worth $700. It's also easily worth far more.

If I needed another MTB and lived anywhere near NYC, I'd already own that bike.

It's probably worth almost 50% more than you're asking to someone that's into bikes. Maybe more.

The Supercaliber is Fisher's top of the line bicycle. It's a great bike.

Wow, thanks.

About that con artist vs. saint thing, I do have references on both heatware and ebay under this very same nick and have plenty of posts on Anandtech, [H] and ArsTechnica, also under the same nick. The email address that's listed in my sig is also very easily verifiable and is the same address I use for ebay and heatware (it's also a non-free address).

As for the bike, this bike is excellent and is indeed GF's top of the line bike. It weighs less than 23lbs.
I had a really nice Litespeed before (full XTR, etc. $5500 bike), and it was no better than this one.

Also, here is a link to my FS thread over on ArsTechnica.

I need to do a bit of checking and make sure that it is what I want; I should be able to know for sure tomorrow evening. Is anyone else looking at gettting it (i.e. do I need to hurry to make a decision)?

There were several (four, I believe) people who seemed quite interested, but it doesn't seem like you have to hurry a great deal or anything. Even though it's priced low at $700, $700 is still plenty of money, so make sure you reach the right decision.

DAMN! Great price! If I hadn't just pulled the trigger on a custom G5 I'd jump all over this.
