Hi List,

I have a 5 month-old Powerbook 15" 1ghz 1gig ram, dvdr/cdrw, 60gig -
and was wondering if anyone here (or knows of someone) that would be
interested in trading for an IBM t40 with the following minimum specs:

1.6ghz pentium m processor
1440x1024 screen
5400+ rpm drive (i believe ibm only offers this in 40 gig, but I
recall someone posting that IBM now offers a 7200rpm drive?)
Radeon 9000 (will consider firegl 9000)

Everything else is just icing to me.

I'm not sure what both machines go for these days, but I remember when
I was pricing the machines out, both were comparable in price, around
3k.

I would like to trade because I'm leaving my job and I no longer need
the PB. As much as I love the design and eagerly await Panther to come
out, I know that I am more efficient working on a PC.

Also, I'm in West Los Angeles and the Powerbook comes with 3-years of
AppleCare service. If anyone is at all interested, please feel free to
e-mail me at: wynn@tuningwerks.com. Also, my ebay userid is wruji.

Thanks much

Wynn

Would you consider just cash for your Powerbook? How much would you want?

Hi marumari,

I haven't really thought about that actually. If I were to sell it directly, I would do some research - most likely on ebay - and find out what similar powerbooks are going for. My fear is that I won't be able to find a used t40.

I will think about selling it outright, but at this point, it is unlikely. I really can't go without a laptop for more than a few days.

Thank you for asking and I will let you know if anything changes. You should try doing a search on ebay or checking with all the major retailers. Good luck.
