Well as you may have read in the lounge some time ago, I sold my radeon 8500 to Adam Betts, and was shaffted on part of the bill. After dealing with this kid for many many weeks now I have finally given up. I have heard no word from him after sending countles emails, but I have the poor communication skillz he says . To sum up how I was supposed to be paid I can only list in order what happened.

1. Said I'd give him a deal on the card. Gave him addy for MO to be sent to me.
2. About 2 weeks go by, he's waiting for a check to clear with a pay pal like company or something befor the MO can be sent. But my communication is bad rember.
3. After waiting another week I get him to paypal $90.00 of what he owes me to a buddy of mine, who I purched ram off of and still owed him $$, and the rest is to be sent to me in MO form.
4. There is a problem with my summer house's mailing address becuase its a "general Delivery" on a small island and the paypal place won't ship the MO there.
5. I give him a PO Box Address to ship to (my GF's place)
6. No word so I post on the MacNN lounge, finally a responce. Says hes gonna send it off to me but is pissed cause I posted on MacNN.
7. Another week or so pass, no MO. Now he claims that all along it was paypal or nothing. So I set up a Paypal account and email him the info. Well its been 2 more weeks and still havn't heard a word from him.

So to all, please be care with this kid. I know he's gonna come right after me trying to blame the whole thing on myself but I've done several major and minor transactions over MacNN boards and had not one problem befor. I also have an outstanding eBay record. So I know I did nothing in the wrong. I was just being overly trusting and tried to help some one out with a good deal. So please be careful yah'll and don't end up like me.

p.s. To adam, if you would still liek to try to finish this please email me, I knwo you have my address along with all the other emails I sent you. I have copis of them also, aswell ass allof out ichat chats.

*sigh*

Second personal attack against me in the public. A mod have been called to this thread.

For the record: 99.9% of people I've made deal with went smooth and fast. My eBay Feedback is outstanding too.

I did a trade with Adam which involved him sending me a TiBook and he shipped it to me before I shipped my system to him. To me, thats a very trusting person. Also, the item he sent me was exactly as he described it with no surprises at all. He has also been quick to respond to my PMs when I had questions after the trade.

edited cause it sounded like I was agreeing with the original poster, but I was actually giving Adam credit.

Dude, why don't you return my emails, or simple send off the last bit of $$ then. I don't see why this is such a hassel.

Don't **** around with me, seriously. You're trying to make me look bad when in fact you're the one who should look bad. I take every deal very seriously. You gave me an odd address that Money Order won't accept then I suggested you to use PayPal instead and you refused, saying that you're old-fashion. I tried several different types of Money Order and all of them cannot ship to your address (I lost around $10 in multiple Money Order fee). Two weeks later you finally decided to register a new PayPal account and gave me the email address. It turned out that your PayPal account does not exist or is not confirmed yet.

Now tell me if you still don't see why this is such a hassle.

You two seem to be communicating quite well here. Why hasn't this been resolved by now? Is somebody stalling?

Paypal is awful, and I don't blame him for not using it. They burned me bad. Paypal = bad.

Except Adam, tried sending him a Money Order except that they don't send MO's to general delivery, so what choice does have? So far Paypal has done me pretty good (knocks on wood).

Could you share your experience? I'd like to know how bad they are so I'll be more careful with them next time.

*Millions* use PayPal everyday without a hitch. But its the few who have some problems were they make a web site on the damned fact that they hate PayPal.

I have used PayPal successfully for 3 years now. Not one problem.

Sorry about your painful transaction, Adam Betts and Liquidity X!

Could you have used COD in this situation? I'm not familiar with some of the issues you've had, but if you send something COD, the other party must pay at the door or the item goes back to the sender. This isn't always the greatest option (person must be waiting with a check in hand, plus added fee), but it is somewhat safer than just sending money.

I haven't really had any problems with PayPal, but then again I've only sent PayPal payments, not received them.

Good luck and hope things get resolved!

P.S. Thanks for sending me info on the Sony speakers Adam - I'll let you know if I'm interested!

I've never had a problem with Paypal, it's only the users on the other end of Paypal.

Unless the transferred money just "disappears"!

Won't he take a cashiers check? It's as good as a money order.
