Are you looking to trade that older mac for a new model? I can get a discount on new purchases and would like to use this discount towards a purchase of your older equipment. I'm looking for either an ibook/powerbook G3 or a powermac G3/4.

Let me know what you have and what model you're looking at and I'll tell you what price I can obtain this unit for.

So let me get this straight, you can get a discount for new mac hardware but instead of getting that yourself you want the old stuff? that doesn't make sense. Please elaborate on the type of discount that you can get, what about warrenty issues and support?
I have to say I'm a little skeptical that this is legit.

Well it sounds like he can, for example, get a new 15" Powerbook for $1600 but only wants to spend $1000 for a Powerbook, so he'd take someone's old Powerbook and credit them $1000 towards the $1600 machine. More confusing?

I have a 25% discount on NEW Apple hardware through my employer. The computer will be sold directly to you... basically I have a custom online applestore I can access at work but I can put whomever's name in the ship to field. The system can then be registered to anyone because it is brand new.

At this time I can't afford a brand new mac, so i'm looking for a used model. This is why i'm exploring this option.

Ohh, I see. So you're offering to whore out your employer for people's old Macs? That way you won't have to spend any money at all.

No answer to emails. Scam or too lazy to actually follow through?

Basically he gives you say a PBG4 with his discount, you give him a QS733 and cash.

$1400 (12PB price..)
-$800 (QS Price)
--------------------
$600

So he asks for the difference in cash, and give someone else a deal he couldn't afford. Sounds like a nice guy. He's told you how much he can get off the machines, so it's no scam. And he can only get one at that price point (Apple retail store emp.)

Don't ask how I know, and I don't work for Apple.
