Original Apple processor card, from a G4 "Digital Audio", for sale. The card has been used during about 2 years and is still working fine. Price: I would think about 250.- usd - what do you think about that ?

any idea on wether this card would work on a gigabit G4 400mhz??
i might be tempted into this upgrade, even though it wouldn't be a huge upgrade.

It depends on your software. Most pro-level software uses dual processors and will get a 50-80% boost off the 2nd cpu. Consumer apps would multitask better, but don't support dualies as often as the pro software. Example, Quake3 would more than double in frame rates (100+fps if you GPU can keep up). But DiabloII would ignore the 2nd cpu and barely benefit except when multitasking. But I don't think it will fit your mobo anyway. IIRC, Apple switched the connector location on the dual 500 vs dual 533 cpus......joe

You would also have to take into account the fact that the digital audio g4 runs on a 133 mhz system bus and therefore the processor would not run as fast on the gigabit's 100 mhz mother board.
