Looks pretty dubious to me. $2350 for a $3300 17in. Powerbook G4. Sounds like one of the "Brand New Powerbook G4 17in!! Only $999" auctions on eBay.
My $0.02

Whitepages.com finds no Scott Poole in Tacoma, Washington. Also, a reverse lookup on the phone number comes back unknown, but that it is a cell phone. Never trust anyone w/out a land line trying to do BIG business like this. Also, the fax number comes back as:
Poole, Mary French
402 N G St
Tacoma, WA 98403
(253) 274-1081
So, I'd say scam. Some kid using his mom's line or something of the sort. But, hey, call Ms. Mary French Poole and find out. Could be good for some laughs.

NP. As someone who has been scammed in the past, it helps to be alert. As the saying goes, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
The UCSD deal sounds good. I assume you're a student. Good luck!

As far as that evisionusa.com site is concerned, it looks to me like he takes your money and then invests it in some of those 'multilevel' purchasing sites... don't know what their official name is (besides big ****ing scam) but you've all probably seen/heard of them on eBay. Based on the description on the evisionusa.com home page, that appears (to me) what he's doing. Anyone else?
Personally, I wouldn't trust this site at all.

You know what. . . I just looked at the site and they accept Credit Cards. So buy it w/ a credit card and if it doesn't come then report his ass to the credit card company and let them go after him.
Generally speaking they are pretty good about this or at least that companies that I used (Citibank, Chase Manhattan, & AMEX). And the best part is that you don't even have the pay the money up front.

Actually it's Paypal, which may give you similar levels of protection.
Still, there's no way I'm going to 'test' this theory out with my cash. Give me your paypal account and I'll be happy to place the order and see if this guy comes through.

I get sceptical when a new member's first post is for a commercial web site to which he supposedly has no connection. "I just found this site...." Yeah, right. Looks like shilling to me.

Considering he was asking about the legitimacy of the deal, I wouldn't be so quick to jump to conclusions about people. The site looks like a scam, but that doesn't mean that the guy asking about it is a part of it.
Plus, the guy was actually posting information about the site asking people to check it out. How can you come to the conclusion that he's shilling?

But he is posting a 1GHz for $1850. I don't think UCSD has their 1GHz for only $1850. Someone should call and find out how much.

Maybe I'm taking this too far, but...
He wasn't posting a 1Ghz for $1850 (agog), he was posting that some other website was offering it and wanted to know whether or not any of us thought it was legit. The UCSD bit was an afterthought (after we had debunked the original deal) as to whether or not we thought it was UCSD was offering a good deal (since the first deal was obviously bunk). I think a lot of people here give newbies a way too hard time. Just because you're new doesn't mean you're out to scam, and just because you're new doesn't mean your stupid.
Every one of us was a first time poster at some point.

Because the price in both Taiwan and China are expensive than United State! The price of these two website are attract me, but I cann't confirm it's facticity, America is too far for me!
Thanks for reply, honestly!

No, I was just saying. . . I don't think UCSD would offer their's for so low as 1850.

I think you might have to pass on the UCSD deal then. Typically university computer store prices are only good to students at said university. So I think the only one's able to buy the 1ghz 15.2in will be UCSD students. If you're looking for a good deal, or one that is not quite as bad as local currency prices, I'd recommend finding an eBay seller willing to ship to you overseas.

I see, I apologize. I get a little hot when I see people picking on newbies (or accusing them of being scammers as another member was doing). Obviously you were trying to be helpful, so sorry for the snap.

No problem. No harm no foul.
Agog, if you wait until next week. You might actually be able to pick up a 15" 1GHz for that price, used of course. Prices right now for used are around 2000 to 2200 for the 1GHz. I am sure they'll come down a couple of hundred after next week.
Goodluck.

Find a friend that goes to UCSD . My school (not anymore) but a few months back where offerring 15" 867 for only $1588 and the 15" 1GHz for only $2050. All the machines included airport and applecare as part of the price. Now that was a good deal.
