Matsushita/Panasonic UJ-810B professionally installed in a Pismo drive caddy with matching Pismo faceplate. LOOKS absolutely stock but writes: 2X DVD-RAM, 1X DVD-R, 1X DVD-RW, 16X CDR, 8X CDRW and reads: 8X DVD-ROM & 24X CD-ROM. Unlike some other aftermarket drives, this drive is completely bootable and is set to "master" for maximum compatibility. Reads CD/DVD/DVD-RAM & Works with DVD-RAM in Disc Copy/Disk Utility & third party burning utilities (Toast, Dragon Burn, etc.) in stock 10.2.8/10.3.1. Will include patches for 9.2.2/10.2.8/10.3.1 so that drive is Fully Supported/AppleSupported for iTunes/DiscCopy/DiscUtility/Disc Burner burning. Very capable, quiet, sweet drive. Price $310 including Insured Priority Mail in USA. $60 credit if you trade in a complete Apple M5505/M7931 Matsushita DVD drive. Non-working trade-in ok as long as physically complete and undamaged. PayPal preferred. email wmdonnelly@cox.net if interested.

Bump: Next batch are Matsushita/Panasonic UJ-811B burners. Tray-loading, like the UJ-810B except that DVD-R is 2X instead of 1X BUT at the SAME price. If you need a replacement optical drive for your Pismo (or Lombard) and are considering any burner, this excellent, reliable drive deserves serious consideration. I use one in my own maxed out Pismo and have priced it to be a real bargain. Can ship before Thanksgiving. <wmdonnelly@cox.net>

Probably some name mix-up or my mistake, but according to

http://www.alcohol-soft.com/devsupp/...&B1=submit

the Matsushita UJ-810B does not support DVD-writing?

(Bump). Still have drives with the faster Matsu****a/Panasonic UJ-811B Multi mechanism (2X DVD-R AND 2X DVD-RAM) at the SAME $310 price including Priority Mail in US. Panasonic data sheets at <http://www.panasonic.com/industrial/...storage/multi/>
Fast Combo drives also available (DVD-ROM + 24X CDR, using Matsu****a/Panasonic UJDA740 mechanism) also available for $210, including Priority Mail in US.
These drive look and perform like they came from Apple, but with features and performance not available at any price when our Pismos were in production !
