I'm looking for an old Beige PCI PowerMac.
It has to be beige, and it has to be PCI. I've been looking on the web for them, but I hate to spend that much money on one when I know so many people have them just lying around or might actually be throwing them away. I need one to power a web site. If you have one thats just collecting dust, let me know. Remember has to be beige and has to be PCI. Oh yeah and 6400/6500's are excluded also. Let me know.

Just to clarify...
7300, 7500, 7600, 8500, 8600, 9500, 9600, G3 Beige... i think thats all of 'em

OS 9.2.2

266 MGZ G3

288MB Ram:
  • 32 MB DIMM
  • 128 MB DIMM
  • 128 MB DIMM

4 GB HD

CD, Floppy, Ethernet, External US Robotics 56K Modem (if desired)

Asking $100 OBO

Also have a Sony Trinitron Multiscan 100gs (15in) color monitor for the G3. Asking $100 OBO for monitor.

If you wait until I get back from school (2-3 weeks), I live in Ma, so we could arrange something so we wouldnt have to ship. Or, if you need it soon, I am sure something can be worked out.

I think I want something cheaper, like a 604 based machine. I don't wanna pay for shipping so if you live in the boston area that would be a plus. That second G3 would be too much when you add shipping on.

How about a G3 Desktop. 266 MHz, 4 GB HD, 128 mb of RAM, Zip, Floppy, CD, OS 9.2.2/OS 10.2, runs perfect. How does $50 plus shipping sound? If you don't think that's fair, let me know what is and I'll consider, I'm definitely willing to sell this. (BTW, when I shipped a 7100, Mac Classic + a ton of random other computer stuff from Iowa to South Carolina, shipping was less than $25, so that should give you an idea of the most it could possibly be)

Just FYI - a 6500/250 is a pretty fast computer. And you could probably get one cheap, since people are mistakenly "afraid" of the 603 processor. They're also nice because they use IDE hard drives, instead of SCSI like all the others..

Out of curiosity, why would you exclude these? Cuz I have a really nice one if you're still interested. I'd sell it for like $25...

Becuase people like you keep replying to it! I don't remember what i wanted one of these machines for so I don't know why I excluded the X500's. Though it was probably due to the minimal number of PCI slots, hard drive bays, and optical bays. They are good machines though, for a while I was very seriously thinking of putting one in my car as an mp3 player, and since it has video, i could have hooked it up to a cheap 6" lcd and stick a cheap camera on the back and had a rear view etc. This was before ipods came out. I never got around to it and now its just not worth the effort.
