Are you a charity given charity status by your state or the federal government? Because if not they can't claim any deduction. And the federal government has guidelines for deductions, one of which is "fair value" which doesn't mean "full original price".

I hope you get a laptop, just don't want you to get in any trouble because you mistated the law.
