This is a Powerbook G3 Wallstreet. Originally it had a 233Mhz CPU. It has since been upgraded to a 500Mhz G3 Powerlogix CPU. It has two 256mb ram chips for a total of 512MB of RAM. This Powerbook is NOT in perfect condition as it is old and well used but it is still useable. A 20x CD-ROM drive is included. This Powerbook has a 14" color screen capable of millions of colors. The two PC Cardbus slots work. I will now list what does NOT work. The Fan does not work. The 2 batteries no longer charge. The screen hinges still work but this model of Powerbook is known for its weak hinges so be careful. I am selling this Powerbook without a HD. I will include my ADB Logitech Trackball as well as 3 power adapters. Two of them are the old style black bricks, the other one is a round clear type. The doors to the Cardbuss slots have been removed to improve cooling airflow. Likewise the grill that is beside the HD on the other side of the HD has been cut away exposing the HD to view. This does not interfere in the operation of the Powerbook in anyway. This Powerbook can and DID run Mac OS X until I decided to sell it. It can run Mac OS X 10.2, no later versions are supported by Apple. If you are going to install OS X on this Powerbook onto a drive larger than 8gigs then you must repartition the new hard drive and make the first (top) partition 7.9 gigs or less and install OS X onto that partition only. You won't be able to install it anywhere else. If you plan to use this comp with Mac OS 9 then you'll need to go to the Powerlogix website to download the driver to enable the backside cache of the CPU upgrade to run at full speed. Under the keyboard is a layer of aluminium tin foil to facilitate cooling from the CPU. You can remove it if you wish but I suggest you leave it in place if you decide to use this machine on an everyday basis. Ok to recap the major points, Powerbook G3 with a 500Mhz G3 Powerlogix upgrade, 14" color screen, 512mb of RAM, 20x CD-ROM drive, 3 power adapters. I will include a Mac OS 9 CD as well as a SCSI port adapter. There is no reserve on this auction. It begins at one cent. This item is sold as is. If you have any questions please email me at NDPTAL85@softhome.net the shipping/handling for this item will be $8.50 in the US, $15 international. Payment methods accepted are checks, money orders or Paypal.
