I have an Apple PowerBook G3 (FireWire Edition), commonly known as Pismo, for sale. This unit is in perfect working order with only slight cosmetic damage, as noted below.

Cosmetics:

The small plastic cover for the irDA port is missing.
There's a tiny amount of transparent glue around the rubber feet, resulting from replacing them.
I replaced the original Yo-Yo power adapter with a third-party (Masline) power brick.
Missing owner's manual, but you can download the PDF version from:
http://manuals.info.apple.com/Apple_...PowerBooks.PDF

Specs in brief:

500 MHz G3 processsor.
100 MHz system bus.
1024 MB RAM (upgraded from 128 MB).
40 GB hard drive (upgraded from 12 GB).
14.1" active-matrix display, 1024 x 768 resolution, 8 MB VRAM (no scratches, keyboard marks, or dead pixels).
Integrated touchpad.
DVD ROM optical media drive.
Battery (original, but still charges to 100%).
Ports: FireWire 400 (2), USB (2), Modem, Ethernet, S-Video, VGA, Audio In/Out.
Integrated AirPort wirless (802.11B).
Complete specs and detailed technical information can be found at:
http://developer.apple.com/documenta.../PowerBook.pdf

What you'll get:

PowerBook G3 (as listed above).
Original box and packing materials.
Original Mac OS 9.04 discs (3): Software Restore, Software Install, and AirPort.
LogiTech USB, two-button, scroll-wheel mouse (Model #MX300).
S-video to Composite video adapter.
Apple Software Proof-of-Purchase coupons (3).
Mac OS 9.2.2, Mac OS X 10.3, and Mac OS X 10.3 Server pre-installed.
(READ CAREFULLY: This software is provided only for the purpose of demonstrating the machine's capabilities. No original OS X discs or OS X software licenses are included with your purchase.)

Asking $800 or best offer. You can contact me at froejoe@rochester.rr.com

I don't mean to be rude, but when I sold my Pismo for the same price I had on it all you did, plus a CD-RW/DVD-ROM (internal, replacement for the crappy LG drive). Check my signature for more info.

What I am trying to say-- I think you're asking too much.

Something to think about, maybe YOU sold yours to low, bstone. PS. Your post amounts to thread crapping. Keep comments like this to PM.

Not likely, Zimmerman. Check ebay and this forum and others for current Pismo prices. The price he is asking is a tad high. A minor reduction in price I think is all that is needed.

For what its worth I sold my Pismo (with a smaller hard drive) last spring for about $1000 and I had a backup buyer. The Pismo is still a great computer, especially for students. Even many professionals still work on 350-500mHz G3 systems so don't discredit its worth. As far as eBay, all I have to say is just be careful there. Good luck with the sale.

last spring was a year ago, i mean really, prices go down a lot in a year, but that said i think it's worth $800, but it's got a lot of competitors seeing as you can get a G4 400mhz or 500mhz powerbook in that same price range.
as ever,
sonny
