can we make a "no linking to auctions" rule? it seems like the whole point of the marketplace is to be a little place where members can buy and sell their things to other members exclusively. i mean, if i want to buy something off of ebay, i'll go to ebay. it just seems like all these links diminish the quality of community here.

We had a thread where this subject was brought up. Most people agree that it is fine.

This place isn't exactly booming, a few FA threads don't hurt. I don't see why everybody bitches about the FA threads. If you don't want to look at something on eBay, then don't go into the thread.

I am glad we have eBay postings here.

Good point, I didn't know it had been discussed, nor did I know people like it. I'll do more research before speaking next time I do wish the subject had said FA though, so i didn't waste my time reading the thread.

I can agree with you on that. Also it would be nice if it said what platform somewhere besides in the auction.

It isn't even a Mac item!!!!! So can I sell some of my son's old clothes and baby shoes on here? Currently I have a TON of size 12-18 months baby clothes and being a single dad, anything I can save over Ebay fees helps out.

PowerMacMan you dont have to be offensive, this is a forum to sell things and that is just what Im doing. If you are not interested on the item just dont get it, is that so hard to do....

Uh, you do realize that he is defending your right to post links to eBay auctions? MacTraderboy has been bitching about people posting eBay links nonstop and PowerMacMan has been defending the use of "For Auction" postings. You should be grateful.

However, it would be nice if people would just not bring up this crap in the first place. eBay listings are ALLOWED, and therefore no one should be hijacking the thread to say how annoyed they are that it's a link to an auction.

PowerBub and MacTraderboy, from now on, we need to have an "only post if you're actually interested in the item" rule. Oh wait.

"That's Mama Luigi to you, Mario!" *wheeze*

As someone gave me a good reason for the Ebay links I no longer have a problem with them. I was convinced they serve a purpose. It is when the thread doesn't have the "FA" subject line and isn't even a Mac/computer related item that bothers me.
