This Newton is in really good shape. I would rate it as an 8/10 (at least)cosmetically, and a 10 out of 10 functionally. The screen has no scratches or scuffs that are of any consequence. You'll be hard pressed to find a newton in better shape than this one. The backlight still works great and is very bright.
The Newton keyboard is pretty rare nowadays. It's doubtful that you'll find a used one in significantly nicer condition, as I tend to take really good care of my gadgets. On the back of the keyboard it says Newton Keyboard, model X0044.
I'm selling this gear to raise some money (currently a graduate student). My Palm PDA will have to suffice, but it certainly lacks the panache and superior operating system of the Newton.
