I "purchased" a Dual 1Ghz G4 via an online classified ad and it is almost a month later and no computer. The seller is from Canada and I am in the West Coast United States. I've talked with the seller every other day for the last two or three weeks but I haven't heard from him in over a week; emails and phone messages go unanswered. Also, I paid with an international USPS money order.

I guess what my question is...what is the next step, if any? I'm guessing I'm **** out of luck and I've just learned a hard life lesson.

I've seen pictures of the computer, I have confirmed address and phone number. The computer was supposedly sent via Canada Post/USPS but both the seller and the US customs claim the computer could be held over for inspection, since it is an electronic item containing "data", due to 9/11.

Thanks for any comments.

Two things--
1) Did you buy the Postal Order w/ a credit card?
If so--call them! They can help you out.

2) I believe the same can be true with a USPS money order--it's issued by the US government, and if the seller cashed it, and cheated you out of the $$$, he could be in some serious trouble (although, I don't know if that holds true internationally)

The fact that it was a postal money order may end up saving you. If it doesn't show up within another week or two, go to the post office and report mail fraud.

Also, so you know: *NEVER* pay with a money order for anything worth more than $50-100. And *NEVER* allow anybody to send you an item that cost more than $50-100 via USPS.
