hi all... ok, my work is going to take me out of the country for a couple months this coming summer so since my precious G5 tower would be sitting idle and derelict, i've decided to sell it before leaving. i purchased it on 1.27.04, so it will be under Apple warranty until 1.27.05, and available for AppleCare warranty upgrade until then as well... this system was purchased from Apple as a "refurb" system even though it is in brand-new condition, so it will ship in the same brown box that is was delivered in. it has had some extensive upgrades during the last couple of months, the current specs are:

dual 2.0GHz G5 CPU's
3.0 Gb of memory (see below for a breakdown of ram config)
Superdrive
Radeon 9600 (didn't want the 9800 due to the noise)
74Gb Western Digital "Raptor" drive (added this one, 10,000 rpm, SCSI performance)
160Gb sATA drive (stock 7200 rpm drive)
all disks, cables and adapters that come w/ G5's are of course included
Apple Pro keyboard (older style, not the new mushy kind) and Apple Pro mouse

the system memory consists of 6 sticks of GEIL 512mb DDR533 memory (got the fastest DDR available in anticipation of later generations of Powermac's requiring faster DDR memory). the GEIL memory cost right under $900; there are two memory slots still available.

the extra drive i added is a true 10k rpm drive and delivers true SCSI performance when compared to the slower IDE-based sATA drives that come factory, paid $250 for it in february. this is the fastest sATA drive on the market and makes a big difference as the system (or scratch) drive.

this machine is in perfect shape and is *extremely* fast, it has never exhibited any of the G5 problems i've read about in the forums (loud chirps from power-supply, etc.), i assume because it came from Apple at a later date than the earlier G5 models... it pains me to sell her as this is the nicest desktop i've ever owned, but not being able to use it for months seems a waste to me.

i'm asking $3000 for the machine as it sits, which i think is very fair for a machine w/ these kind of upgrades. i have 100+ positive eBay feedbacks' under the nickname "cyberoptik", and can take payment by either Paypal (verified users only) or any other 'safe' payment form.

if interested please post here or email me directly at dagon{at}houston.rr.com.

alternately, i should mention that i would sell the machine sans additional ram and HD in its stock configuration (512mb ram, 160Gb sATA drive) for $2200 shipped.
