A starting bid of $500 seems unrealistic... also, while the system is maxed out, it's starting to show the years. That compounded by the fact that you have only sold two items on eBay and have no photos of the item would make me (if I weren't in this forum) rather suspicious.
I hope you the best of luck...

Sorry, but I really need to sell this computer. That's why I put a warning in the title. I think I should be entitled to a cross-post once every ~3.5 yrs.

Similar machines seem to be selling for $600-$700 on eBay, based on a completed items search, which seems like a good deal for the seller, but hey.
Yeah, credibility is an issue. I just don't sell that much stuff, and I don't own a digital camera, so there's not much I can do about it. :/ I was actually kinda hoping to close a deal privately with someone in the forums so I wouldn't even need to deal with eBay. We'll see...

Not to hijack Fyre4ce's thread, but if I took pics of mine, would you be interested?

If this post is in the Lounge forum, it is likely to be my own opinion, and not representative of the position of MacNN.com.

If anyone is seriously interested I can probably arrange to borrow someone's camera and take pictures. Please let me know.
And if my asking price is too high, make me an offer you're comfortable with. I really need to sell this machine, or I won't eat during the month of May.

Good luck selling your pismo.
I recently sold my 400 MHz pismo to an acquaintance for $450.
320 MB RAM, 10 GB HD, Airport card, OS 10.3, and in great working condition.
Within a week the DVD/CD drive quit working and a few weeks after that the battery won't hold a charge anymore.
I sold this to a person I respect deeply and highly regret the drive and battery problems. I offered to pay for half of the replacement parts, but he declined. He said it worked great when I sold it to him and he knew I priced it lower than the going rate of about $650 for such a machine.
I also included a Firewire 48X CD-R/W external drive and a laptop case.
The lesson I learned: Never sell to anyone you know.

It's hard, but I like to buy from friends... but I tell them, OK, it's mine now, and everything seems to be in working order. This is no longer your car/computer/whatever. So all the problems are mine. I have never had any issues. I have picked up cars from friends... it's a little strange at first, but you get over it. The only strange thing is, you feel obligated to keeping "your new" vehicle clean out of respect.

The Pismo is still a great machine - I bought one for $415 a while ago, and it runs Panther just fine. Of course, it only had 384 MB of RAM, no AirPort card, only 6 GB of hard drive space, and only OS 9 when I bought it. So for the extra RAM, larger HD, AirPort card, and Panther, I think the price you're charging is fair. Unfortunately, I've already got one.
If no one on NN wants one, you might be able to sell it to a non-technical user. Someone like a "Mom type" who wants to check her e-mail, write papers in Word, etc. and who wouldn't be all upset about it not being the newest, fastest, flashiest would find this to be a great machine. Plus, you can point out that it makes a great portable DVD player (and easy to set up, too, since you're providing the S-Video to composite adapter).
All in all, you should be able to find a good home for your Pismo. Good luck.

I finally borrowed a camera and took some pictures! I don't have a server to put them up on but email me if interested and I'll send them to you.
Another thing: I made the unfortunate discovery that the battery has completely died since I last used the computer. So, I'm taking $100 off the price, making it $500. Sorry about this - it took me totally by surprise.
