Hey all, I have a machine I'm interested in installing 9.0/1 on. I have 9.2.1 cds but they're scratched and won't allow me to install (error during installation). Since I have to use a machid editor to get it to run anyway, I'm kind of interested in a 9 cd. Make me an offer :-)

Have you tried using some window cleaner on the shiny side of the disk to clean it? This has proved helpful to me on at least one occasion when I encountered that error.

Another option would be Novus plastic polish. It comes in three grades and is available from store such as TAP Plastics. It works on CDs, iPods, and guitar finishes.

Just a couple of suggestions.

I agree with Dr. Wahnsinn. I have actually used Turtle Wax to "revive" a scratched up CD. It would definately be cheaper than trying to buy an OS 9 CD.

i have an actual CD of os 9 that i could part with in a trade or just money.

i think they go for a good bit, but i'd have to check ebay for a going price. i'd be up for a trade as well for some pc66 or pc100 256mb RAM so dimm or a wallstreet battery.
as ever,
sonny

I have a 9.2.1 cd and I think I can scrounge up a 9.0 or 9.1 cd. I'll get back to you Monday on the cds I have. Wouldn't want much for any of them.

I have both 9.2.1 and 9.1 install discs that will work on any OS 9-compatible machine. If you can't get your 9.2.1 disc to work, drop me a PM.

8.5 was the paid upgrade. Unfortunately I can't seem to find my CD.
