Are you thinking of getting a 20GB iPod? Consider buying my 30GB iPod.
I'd rate the back metal an 8/10 condition and the front a 7/10.
There is one small nick in the top corner but no metal dents or serous scratches.
The drive is noiser than usual but it passed the internal HD test and has never frozen up on me.
The battery still gets at least 6 hours.
