My 30 gig just won't turn on... won't mount, won't do anything. I get no response no matter what. I took it into Apple and they didn't know what to do with it, so if anyone wants it for parts, it's all yours. I'm not sure exactly what is wrong with it, so I can't guarantee it will work for your purposes, but I was thinking $40 or so, including shipping is about fair?
