I'd like to upgrade to a newer powerbook, and sell this one to offset the cost.

Specs:
G4 550
2 x 256MB ram
60GB 7200RPM Travelstar HD (3 months old)
Airport
DVD/CDRW
3 batteries, 1 gets 3+ hrs normal use, the others are even better
Software: What originally came with it.

Screen has some scuffs, but nothing major, and the case has some marks, but nothing big. Includes the newer power supply, it's about 9 months old.
This is just a price check, I need to know if I can even afford getting a new PB. Hopefully this thing is worth $800-$1000, because I'd need about that to have a chance of affording a new laptop.

Thx,

Scott

You'd be very lucky to get $800, I would think. As the G4 iBooks can be had for less than $900.

I would say $600 is a fair bet.

$400 on the really low-end.

With the 60GB HD, Airport and 3 batteries I would say around $700-$800. Do you have the original packing and etc.?

Sure I'll ship it to Europe, if you pay all shipping costs and taxes
Plus the $800 for the laptop, of course.

i think you should sell the batteries seperate, you could get $75 each on two of those, and sell the airport card seperate for close to $100.

and you could still get $600 for the powerbook without those items. where as all together, yr gonna top out at $650 or so since most don't need the extra batteries, and some don't even need the airport card.

the 550mhz is an overlooked model in most cases.
as ever,
sonny

I agree, sell at least one of the batteries separately, and if you have the original HD put it back in and sell the 7200rpm drive separately as well. Most people looking at the laptop don't realize the individual costs of some of your upgrades. Its a bit crazy but you may actually get more for your PB by selling each part separately.
