OK, the first seller was a phony, so I am trying again........

I need to buy a PowerBook or iBook G4 ASAP - ideally Monday or Tuesday (11/22 or 11/23). I would like to do a local pickup in exchange for cash. I live right in between Chicago and St. Louis, so I'd be willing to drive to either location or meet somewhere reasonable for both parties. I am hoping to spend somewhere in the neighborhood of 850.00 to 1,000.00.

Thanks and I hope to hear from someone out there soon.

I stopped into CompUSA on a whim tonight and they had a 12" 1 Ghz PowerBook on clearance for 1099.00. 40 GB, Combo. It was a demo, but is in perfect shape and I consider myself very fortunate, as I had cash in hand to buy an iBook that very same night.

I look forward to rejoining the Mac community!

So you paid 1099 for a 1Ghz Powerbook, which did not yet come with Airport built in (that was the next revision), is a demo so it has been abused somewhat even if you can't see it, and you paid sales tax?
Because the current crop of iBooks are $999, 200Mhz faster, have Airport Ex built in, and also have a combo drive. And you can hack them for monitor spanning and add bluetooth for $40.

I think you should take it back now because you didn't get much of a deal. CompUSA is a bad place to buy Macs.
