SOLD.

Apple Powerbook Pismo (2000)
* g3/400
* 512mb RAM
* 30gb HD
* DVD
* Zip (internal)
* Panther 10.3 installed - works well
* two batteries (deadish- one holds about 15m charge)
* USB, Firewire on board. Works as a firewire drive in Target Disk Mode
* yo-yo power adapter

US sales preferred. shipping estimated at $40, not included in sale price.

decent screen, i don't think there are any dead pixels, but i'll check it when i get home. a new battery will cost you $100-150, depending on how "big" you want it.

* includes Kensington Saddlebag
* includes new apple pro mouse (from my G5)
* PRAM battery is new, won't need replacing for another 3-4 years
* you can get a G4/550 cpu upgrade for about $300
* not interested in any trades. paypal or MO/CC preferred. Boston area cash/CC possible.

pictures on request; heatware/beerology under "beeba". or ebay references under "nchoe123".

sorry! i put $400 in the thread title, but maybe didn't include it in the body. oops!

... and if that's unreasonable, send me email. (but that's how it should work anyhow)

I'll also include a d-link dwl-650 wireless (802.11b) card with the system. With the addition of a $20 driver from www.ioexperts.com or $25 driver from www.macsense.com (I don't know why they charge $5 more, or why it may be better or not), you'll have wireless capability.

I used the ioexperts driver without problems (they have a 30-minute demo), so I know this works.

Added bonus to help sweeten the deal.

Very tempting deal. Will you include the original pisom software CDs or the 10.3 CDs? You said that 1 battery holds about 15m charge; what does the other hold? What condition is the case in? Any scratches or dents? Also, could I get some pictures? Thanks!

sorry, not much use without the cpu!

just took the pictures, will be posting them...

one battery holds 15m, the other is basically dead. i don't know if there are reconditioning places or whatever.

I don't have the original cd's. I used an install cd from my G5 to install the OS from, without incident.

I'll also include the original 6gb HD with it, if that helps anyone.

***

no major scratches. plastic doesn't dent

ooh, one dark pixel about 1" from the right side, 1.5" up.

this is back up for sale.

note: the power adapter (the "ibook power adapter" which was sent out by apple when they recalled the original power adapter for this model) doesn't insert fully into the unit, but it works fine. there's just a few mm of airspace visible. i don't know if this has always been this way, but it has never caused me pain.

but that's full disclosure for you.
