Thanks,

$600 for a G3 iBook 800MHz with all the original software, original box (this is a plus for packing), good battery and Airport card is not a bad deal. Check out the prices on eBay or a reseller for this model. $600 is at the low end of the spectrum.

Thanks disco...
This is the third time I've listed something on this board, and each time someone who has no interest in buying comes along and criticizes the price I set. I'm open to some feedback, but I follow the rules and post what I think it's worth. It seems to be a matter of perspective, as well as a matter of luck on some people's part. For example: a 900Mhz iBook for $400?? That's a great deal, but hardly the norm. That's not the going price by any stretch of the imagination- it's called being at the right place at the right time. I could sell mine for $200, but that wouldn't mean yours is worth less than $600. Oh, well.

This iBook is very nice as described. If someone is interested in my terms, they can let me know. If they want to make an offer, they have that option. I also have the option of putting this on eBay in the next day or so (one is already listed) if no one is interested. Just thought I'd save all of us the eBay headache.

celliott47:
I think you're price is pretty right on (especially considering Airport cards are going for close to $100 right now), I certainly can't find a similarly equipped machine going for any less anywhere else (including fleabay).

I'm surprised anyone tolerates all this thread-crapping anyway. If you think a price is too high on something, why not just email or pm the seller, why crap all over his thread? I'm baffled why we don't have a rule against this here. It's the only forum I frequent that puts up with it. Bottomline, I think it's just rude.

<sarcasm>That said, I just bought a brand new 1.2ghz iBook G4 from the crackhead down the street for $50, so I think that makes yours worth about $10, so I'll offer you $9, anyone would be crazy to pay anything more.</sarcasm>

Anyway, celliot, if you'd like some suggestions on some other places you might have better luck, shoot me a PM.

Well don't put "PRICE REDUCTION" in your title in big bold letters if you don't want someone to come in and thread crap all over the place for a price reduction. Duh!

Just to clarify. I had the iBook listed at $750 including shipping originally. iRez wrote saying he thought that was a little high. I thought it over, responded graciously to him and dropped the price. It was then that I contacted the mods about changing the header to PRICE REDUCTION. So stop the criticism- I dropped the price in the original ad, made some other changes, advertized that I made the price drop and then got dumped on again by someone who paid $400 for a 900Mhz (and we all know those are widely available).

Then ll350 chimes in with his infinitly beneficial post- DUH

Let's get back to the purpose of the forum- to buy and sell. I'm selling, if you're buying, lets talk, if not, leave it alone.

Thanks. If it doesn't sell at my price and under my terms, then it's my problem.

Hey, I was just joking that is why I put sarcasm at the end of the post. I pm'ed about your iBooks b/c I was thinking about buying one or two.....

But then I got this killer deal on a G7 carbon fiber 20" powerbook for $200! I sent the money order about 3 months ago, but the guy told me the package got stuck in the Post Office machine cause it was So Big! I'm expecting it to arrive any day now.

</sarcasm again, gasp>

the point of the story is, at least you know when you see a fair market price, even if you think it is a little high, you should at least to some comfort in knowing that you *probably* won't get trolled.

Maybe this post will be double infinity helpful:

iBook G3 800 MHz $814
Oh you just need to add an Airport Card
Hmm.. they're selling one with a CD-Rom only so you'll need a DVD/CD-RW

And don't forget the RAM

Sorry, ll350

I guess I wasn't in a very humorous mood when I read your post.
