In very good shape, except it has lost it's sound (AC and charging work fine). I have a replacement sound card for it. I've done some of the upgrading on this, but the sound card replacement just seems too daunting for me, though I know people who own them seem to do it all the time. It's in excellent cosmetic condition, I even replaced the feet, and it has its IRDA cover, which many seem to lose.
Powerbook G3 (screen fine, no weird color tinting!)
Hinge clutches good
384 Megs RAM
20 gig hard drive
DVD drive
one battery (OK, not great, holds about 2 hours)
AC adaptor
OS 10.3.7
replacement sound card
I'd like to get $350.00 plus shipping (probably around $20.00 UPS)

I should probably know this, but what speed G3 is it? Are you including the sound card replacement with the laptop?

Yes, the sound card goes with the Pismo, along with instructions for replacement. It's a 500mhz, upgraded from its original 400.

If you upgraded it to a 500mhz G4, I'd be interested.

Can't believe I didn't mention that in my description. Sleeping, I guess. It's a 500, which I upgraded some time ago.

Is it a 500mhz g3 or g4? Who did you obtain the upgrade from?
If it's a g4, you got a sale.

After some correspondance with this guy via e-mail, I determined that he has a 500mhz G3 in the computer. Therefore, this computer is still for sale.
I'm sorry for high-jacking this thread.

Hello
I wanted you to know that I’m interested in your PB for me to fix and keep. That I wasn’t buying it from you to resell on ebay. I need something portable for editing movies with my kids. I have a limited budget and am willing buy something that needs some TLC.
Thanks fred

^ Not to hi-jack, but you won't edit movies on a G3 unfortunately. If the budget's that tight, you're better off w/ a lowly Windows computer using Windows Movie Maker.
Good luck w/ the sale!

ummmm......what do you think they did before G4's ? remember that little thing called the iMac DV (digital video edition) it never had a G4 and edited fine. News rooms used to use Pismo's (with more ram than the one listed above, but none the less g3's) with xl-1's quite frequently.
G3's make great "edit movies with the kids" machines.

Well let's just say he'll be EXTREMELY limited in what he can do, and he'll have a hard time actually authoring a DVD with his footage:
iLife reqs......
Macintosh computer with a PowerPC G3 (400MHz or faster), G4, or G5 processor
* 600MHz G3 or faster required for GarageBand
* G4 or G5 required for GarageBand software instruments and advanced photo editing in iPhoto 5
* 733MHz G4 or faster required for iDVD
* 1GHz G4 or faster required to use HD features of iMovie HD
Just trying to give a heads-up so no one's dissapointed.
