See subject. I bought this iBook as a portable away from home but I want to upgrade. Been a very good machine to me. It's in great cosmetic condition. Here are the specs:

576MB RAM
10GB HDD
24x CD-ROM
8MB Rage128 Mobility
Power adaptor (yo-yo style)
battery keeps a good charge (roughly 3.5 to 4 hours)
All software restore CD's - iMovie 2 for OS X, iMovie 2 for OS 9, and then a separate 4-CD set labeled "software restore" that just drops OS 9.1, OS 10.0.3, and the apps on the HDD. Also included is original box and packing material.
I'm asking $350 shipped.

I also have a 40GB external Maxtor HDD. It's the 40GB from my eMac, which was upgraded to 250GB. I put it in a firewire enclosure, and it'll come with a firewire cable and power adaptor. I'm asking $50 shipped for the combo, or $35 shipped for just the HDD.

OS 9.2.1 retail OS 9 CD with software license from Apple. Asking $30 shipped.

OS X 10.3.5 4-CD set (including X Code Tools) with software license from Apple. It's the retail box set without the actual retail box. I'll also include the software coupons for proof of purchase should you want them. $70 shipped.

I'd trade the whole shebang plus the 30GB FW laptop-size hard drive in my other thread for an iBook 700 or faster (G3 or G4).

I have three pics to show the screen is in excellent shape, free of dead/stuck pixels, taken while it was running on battery to show that it works, too. If you're interested, shoot me a PM.

If your Mac can boot firewire, it works fine. I'm going to format it before I ship it, but just as a test, I plugged it into my eMac and started up with the Option button held. It showed on my list of bootable volumes, so I booted it up and OS X 10.3.8 booted right off the FW drive. So to answer your question in a short sentence: "Yes."

Made a HUGE price drop on the laptop, from $450 down to $350. I found the machine I want to get and don't need as much out of hte laptop as I originally thought.
